Present Practice is a small psychology service, that strives to provide tailored therapeutic support to individual clients. Utilising an evidence-based approach to therapy, Present Practice provides high-quality therapeutic interventions to address a range of presentations.
We acknowledge that all our clients are unique and as such, our support provides a strong focus on relational attunement, working to ensure our clients feel safe, valued and understood.
Unfortunately we are not currently taking on new clients.
Finding
the right fit
Finding the right psychologist can be a daunting process. It is also an important part of ensuring effective support can be implemented throughout treatment. To help assist in this process, prior to booking in your first session, Present Practice offers a free, no obligation, 10 minute introductory phone call. In this time, you are able to ask questions, provide some detail about yourself and seek clarification on anything you are unsure about.

Present Practice works with adolescent and adult clients, and our typical office hours are 8 am - 7 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We can meet face-to-face, or via telehealth. **Unfortunately Present Practice is not taking on clients at the moment.
meet Bridgitte, our Principal Psychologist.
Hi, my name is Bridgitte Booth and I am a Clinical Psychologist. Throughout my career, I have worked in a range of settings, including, public mental health, private practice and schools.
I work with individuals experiencing a number of high-prevalence conditions including anxiety, depression and adjustment conditions. In addition, I have a keen interest in areas of trauma, assertiveness and communication, behavioural concerns, interpersonal relationships and burnout.
My primary therapeutic modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, however, I consistently draw on elements of a range of other evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, schema therapy and mindfulness practices.

Sessions run for 50 minutes. During this time, Bridgitte will ask a few questions and find out a little more about who you are and what has bought you to Present Practice. Bridgitte is conversational in her approach to therapy, working from a place of curiosity to develop an understanding of what you would like to achieve. Following an initial session, meetings can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on your goals, acuity and desired level of support. Some people may require only a few sessions with Bridgitte, whilst others may have a longer trajectory.

The cost of a session will be $230. Present practice have set their rates with consideration of the Australian Psychological Society Recommendation of $280 for a 50-60 minute psychology session.
If you have a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebated consultations in a calendar year. The Medicare rebate to see Bridgitte will be $131.65.
If you don’t have a MHCP, Private Health rebates are also available, however, the rebate amount differs dependent on your provider and level of cover.
CANCELLATIONS
we understand that life happens and sometimes appointments need to be cancelled. As such, any cancellations that provide more than 24 hours notice will not incur any charge. However, if appointments are cancelled within 24 hours of appointment, 50% of the total price will be charged.

Anyone can make an appointment to see Bridgitte, however to be eligible for the Medicare rebate a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is needed. To find out of you are eligible for a MHCP you will need to see your GP before your first appointment.
